Tibetan Buddhism was founded in the time of the "Religious Kings" during the reign of Songsten Gampo c618 - c650. Mao led Chinese forces into Qamdo, Tibet on October 7, 1950 and have occupied the Tibetan Plateau to the present. The Tibetan Government in Exile (TGIE) seeks a power-sharing pact with the Communist Party of China (CPC.)
