More than ever, an Israeli - Palestine two state solution is necessary

United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UOCH) indicates that, since 2008, there has been 6407 Palestinian fatalities and 152, 560 Palestinian injuries. Conversely, Israeli fatalities for the same period number  308 with 6,307 Israeli injuries. So when the recent onslaught orchestrated by  HAMAS resulted in more than 1,200 Israeli fatalities; 1537 deaths in Gaza by Israeli reprisals according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. This disproportionate response by Israel to Palestine uprisings is typical. International law - jus in bello, requires actors involved n war to act with proportionality. Israel fails this test consistently and is guilty of war crimes. These reeent casualty numbers are reported by CBS through October 12. With the formation of the Jewish state in 1948, the land grabs have created animosity towards the Jewish people and the central government. As Israel is intent on flattening Gaza to root out Hamas and locate those that are missing, there needs to be a solution for innocent Palestinians where a two - state solution is a solid building block to rebuild this territory. The Red Cross, the UN and others need a permanent presence in Palestine to rebuild without any Hamas led government controlling the mandate. The Palestine National Authority led by Mahmoud Abbas needs to  guarantee a peaceful directive in exchange for infrastructure redevelopment  for a Palestinian state with guarantees of peace and no further blockades around Palestine territory. Palestine needs territorial integrity now. Gazan's have been living in a sealed off territory from the outside world since 2007. This outburst should have been anticipated by Israeli officials. While the international community rails against Vladimir Putin, it still supports Ukraine with billions of dollars in aid. The hypocrisy needs to stop in order  to build a stronger Middle East and that starts with a two - state solution  for Israel and Palestine. Moreover, the end of Benjamin Netanyahu's political career needs to come soon so that Israel can be governed with a bit more pragmatism for their neighbours.
